“Some days I wish I could go back in life.
Not to change anything, but to feel a few things twice.”
Good afternoon you beautiful souls! Can you believe today is February 1? That means that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Valentine’s Day usually dedicated to romantic love, has evolved over the years to sharing love with loved ones. It’s so important to spend time, and let those important to us know that we love them every moment we get. So, if you have that special man or woman in your life, why not give them the gift of time.
When JORD Wood Watches (who carries cool unique wood watches for both men and women) reached out to give me an opportunity to select my very own unique wood watch, so much excitement arose inside of me. I’ve owned different types of watches, but never a cool wood watch. If you didn’t know I love watches, like I think I have a problem type of love watches. It’s something about having a time piece on my wrist, each with a different story to tell. The selection of watches that were sent to me were so beautiful, and each one unique in its own way. You can even them engraved. But there was one unique watch that really stood out to me, and I knew I just had to have it. Frankie Ebony & Gold is what she is called, and knowing who I was dedicating this post to the fit was perfect. Also, someone will have an opportunity to win $100 to get their very own unique wood watch by clicking here.
If you didn’t know Ebony wood is described as one the most beautiful pieces of wood, because of it’s distinguished color. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s known for its strength. It’s able to bend to points that no other wood could without breaking. After knowing the qualities of this particular wood, it reminded me of the two most important women of my life (besides my mom), my grandmothers (Diana & Dorothy). Though they are no longer with me, I cherish every moment that I’ve spent with them. They were strong beautiful women, who taught me so much. They could make you laugh, cry, give you choice words, but yet love you in spite of. I’ve watched them give of themselves unselfishly. They took in family members who were in need without questions, able to feed so many people with so little, and loved unconditionally. My fondest memories of them is being in the kitchen cooking with them every chance I got.
So, wearing this unique beautiful watch keeps them close, and time only knows when we will meet again. When I received my watch everything was perfect just like them. From the gold finish details, to the sizing, and the color. All those things drew me in.
Without further a do, today I’m dedicating this post to my beautiful grandmother’s. Writing this post is very emotional for me, because there are days I just wish I could feel the touch of my grandmothers’ one last time. Both loved me in their own special way. The time spent you never get back, but I have memories that keep me going.
I want to do something different today for this post. I’m going to write a letter to my grandmothers’. Things I didn’t get an opportunity to tell them when they were here.
Dear Diana and Dorothy,
Two of the most beautiful women in the world. Never did I expect you ladies to leave me at the times you did. So blessed to have spent the years that I was able to spend with you. They say time is suppose to heal, but it feels like this wound just won’t. I know it’s selfish of me to still want you here with me when you were called to a better home. What I would give to go back to just have one more time with you. How I miss the hugs and kisses from the both of you. I miss the way you love me, and made me laugh when you knew I was down. Today, I want to say thank you. Thank you for showing me what love felt like. For showing me what strength looked like. Showing me what it meant to give unconditionally even when it was taken for granted. You taught me how to do so many things, things that I needed when I got older. When I begin to think about you sadness comes over me, but you always appear to me in my dreams letting me know you are with me. The love of a grandmother is something like no other. It can’t be described or touched with mere words. I love the both of you, and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about you. My daughter is always hearing stories about you, and Grandma Diana I wish she would have had a chance to meet you. You both would have loved each other. I pray that I’m making you both proud. Happy Valentine’s Day.
Love,
Your Granddaughter
