Skin Chronicles
Hey you beautiful souls! Welcome back to the Land of I Am Petite Latoya, and if this is your first visit WELCOME! Don’t be a stranger. Just to let you know, I Am Petite Latoya is a blog that strives to encourage and empower the budding fashionista.
Today I wanted to do a little skin talk. No this is not an ad. I’ve gotten some comments from you lovelies about my skin, and even questions about what I use on my skin. But, before I get into what I use, I wanted to give a little history concerning my skin. You probably wouldn’t have even guessed what I’m about to write. Continue reading
Lady by the Pool
“The invalid answered, Sir, I have nobody when the water is moving to put me into the pool; but while I am trying to come [into it] myself, somebody else steps down ahead of me.”John 5:7 AMPC
I know you’re probably wondering where the heck I’ve been for the past month or so. No blog post, what’s up with that?!?
I’ve been debating about posting this, but felt the time was right right now. You probably thought you were going to get pics of me by the pool, huh? I wish, that would be so awesome right now (drifts off to the beach). Continue reading
Out of the Valley in Bell Sleeves + Flared Jeans
But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end. Deuteronomy 11:11,12 (NIV)
It’s Wednesday and I hope you beautiful souls are having a productive and awesome day!
Today, I’m talking about coming out of the valley. Some of us may feel like we’re in the valley right now, and some of us are coming out of our valley. Things may not seem like they’re going your way, it may seem as if it’s going too slow, you may even feel like nothing is happening at all. Let me encourage you to look up and know things are working out for you. Continue reading
One Word
Hey you beautiful souls! Happy New Year to everyone, pray all is going well with you so far. For my first time visitors, welcome to I Am Petite Latoya. I hope you find something great here, and would return for even more. To everyone else, WELCOME BACK!!
Well, it snowed here in Atl, and I finally found time to write my first blog post of the year. YAY! Better late than never. Today is just a simple post to kick off an amazing 2017 year.
I wanted to start the year out right by issuing a challenge to my readers in finding One Word. New year’s resolutions have never been a thing of mine, neither has goals or anything else. I’m starting to finally realize how important it is to have goals though! Last year I came across a devotion in the Bible app called One Word That Will Change Your Life. So glad that I did. For some, you have written resolutions in the past that has only lead to frustration and failure. We stray due to lack of encouragement, self-discipline, or the task seemed so far-fetched that we give up before we even try.
The old me would easily get side tracked, and come up with every excuse as to why I couldn’t complete a task. However, coming across this devotion actually helped me persevere during my difficult times last year. I have faith that my word “VICTORY” that I’ve chosen this year will help me overcome any roadblocks that try to deter me from my goals. Continue reading

“He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 18:22
Hey you beautiful souls! Thank you so much for taking time out to to stop by today; truly means a lot. Today we are celebrating something Special!!! It’s our Anniversary!!
You don’t hear of many millennials these days who have made it to ten years, yet alone five in marriages. It’s always a blessing to see and hear of those marriages that have lasted 20,25, 40, and even 50+ years. That’s the type of marriage I’m looking to have, and being an example for my baby girl. Marriage is a blessing, and when done the right way can withstand any storm. Marriage takes work, and you put in work for what you love.
5 Things I Quickly Learned While Instablogging
Thank you so much for taking time to stop by today!! It’s been over 4 months since I’ve started Instablogging, and a week since I’ve started my first blog. So today I’m talking about some of the things I’ve learned along this journey called Instablogging. I’m not going to lie, it was nerve wrecking. Here we go!
1. Learn to Unplug
“Balance is always in discipline” ~ Carolina Herrera (August Issue of InStyle Mag)
Discipline, something I thought I had, but quickly realized I didn’t. Posting constantly and making sure I had the right pictures in hopes of gaining followers. Getting bogged down by the things I couldn’t control. The more I was glued to the Gram, the more I felt overwhelmed. After an aha moment, I realized that a break was much-needed. That’s exactly what I took a break. Breaking away to gather my thoughts, and just to regroup! Unplugging allowed me to see and think clearly, and get back to what mattered most (me and my family). It also helped me to be here writing my first blog post.
2. Know & Stick to Your “why”
If any of you have listened to any of the Ted Talks, you would know why the “why” is so important. When I began Instablogging, I told myself that I would stick to the “plan”. That went quickly out the window when I began to notice those accounts with thousands and tens of thousands of followers. Quickly beginning to follow those concepts thinking it’s going to help me. I immediately allowed myself to be moved by what I saw. This only led to discouragement, and the feeling of defeat. My objective was to never work with brands, but that got lost in the hype that I saw. Before starting know “why” you are doing this and stick to it. Continue reading
